Day 2

Pont-en-Royans > Saint-Jean-en-Royans
Domaine Mayoussier
Domaine Mayoussier is a family-run vineyard with 3 hectares of vines tended by hand and horsepower, without mechanization since 2013. We also use eco-pasture to manage the grass cover on our plots, and protect biodiversity by planting hedgerows and bird nesting boxes.
6 grape varieties are grown on the estate: Syrah, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Roussanne, Pinot Gris and Persan, all of which we vinify as naturally as possible.

All our wines are vinified, matured and bottled on the estate. As part of its eco-responsible approach, the domaine offers a deposit for the re-use of its glass bottles.

The Mayoussier Experience:
All year round, Domaine Mayoussier offers visitors a variety of ways to discover its terroir and wines. Activities can be unique or complementary, and several options are available.

Au Roman du Vercors
"At the heart of an environment in constant evolution, I am proud to say I am fulfilling my passion for cooking. I express my creativity through authentic cuisine, centred around the products. Far from the idea of 'ready-meals', I showcase the taste of simple, top-quality ingredients from our local producers, in concocting dishes you are not likely to forget in a hurry.

The Au Roman du Vercors restaurant in Beauvoir-en-Royans is a dream-come-true for my wife Isabelle and I. We created this restaurant because we wanted to share our passion and the pleasure of great food, in a welcoming place that really reflects who we are. I am always inspired by this fascinating profession and by the professionals of the industry I am lucky to meet.

The menu at the Au Roman du Vercors restaurant changes depending on our culinary discoveries, and our inspirations at the time!

Great products, cooked to perfection, and a warm welcome in complete simplicity... we can promise you a wonderful, gourmet experience at the Au Roman du Vercors restaurant, in a simple, welcoming atmosphere."

La Belle Noix
Nestled among walnut trees at the foot of the Vercors mountains, Dorothée and Ludovic from La Belle Noix welcome you to their 35-hectare, certified organic walnut farm.
On their two-hundred-year-old farm, Dorothée and Ludovic offer Noix de Grenoble PDO, walnut kernels and walnut wine, as well as a whole range of gourmet walnut products: walnut and walnut-chocolate spreads, walnut cookies, savory walnut-olive spreads, sweet or savory coated walnut kernels, bottled preparation for walnut moelleux... All these products are entirely processed on the farm by our own staff, and are certified organic.
When you come and visit the farm, you'll be able to meet these two passionate farmers, observe the machinery and equipment needed to harvest and dry the nuts, and discover the farm's processing workshop where all the products offered for sale are prepared, and of course, taste them!
And, as the icing on the cake, you can also discover the La Belle Huile mill that Séverine, Ludovic's sister, installed in autumn 2018 to press oil to order! The perfect opportunity to combine two exciting visits on a single site!

Distillerie du Vercors
The Vercors Distillery is located in the "Domaine De Flandaine", an ancient silkworm farm. This beautiful place became 10 years ago, the cradle of Single Malt Whisky named "Séquoia". The name was chosen in tribute to the huge bicentenary tree who sits in the middle of the courtyard.

You can stop just to find out, or go a little further and join a guided tour in English, see the stills, smell the flagrances of the grain and stroke our white bear :)

We distill an organic whisky. It begins with the transformation of the barley into a beer (quite heavy one!) then comes the distillation and the aging in nice wooden barrels. Eric, the Master Distiller, created his own Wash Still, named "Nautilus". Launched in 2016, Nautilus is designed to distill at low temperature, 50°C instead of the usual 100°C for distillation. This technical process and the gentle atmosphere the place in the countryside make Séquoia an exceptional whisky, multi-awarded in international compétitions.

SEQUOIA whiskeys are organic, brewed, distilled, aged and bottled by the Distillerie du Vercors.

Open all year, please book in advance for the guided tour (1h30 with tasting.)

From Tuesday to Saturday departure at 10:30 a.m. Remember to book !
