This is a unique spot in the southern Bourgogne region, offering both our own wines and wines from our Vignerons Indépendents associates. The site is divided into three areas. The first is dedicated to wine tourism, with a unique visitor trail for discovering both vines and wines. The second is a tasting/sales area with around 85 Bourgogne appellations on offer. The third is for events, comprising a seminar space for workshops and themed tastings. Entrance is free, and guided tours are available upon reservation.

"Artisan Chef" is how Jean-Michel, a young starred chef, likes to introduce himself. With Pascal and Victor, pillars of the restaurant and who have the memory of the know-how passed on by Michel Carrette senior, they like to handle ideas and products; to assemble them and look for the clash of flavours; to finally combine them and create a work of art that is timeless, flavourful and unexpected. The hotel-restaurant ***, Le Rempart welcomes you in the heart of Burgundy. Recently renovated with taste, you can enjoy the Pub du Rempart and the Brasserie du Rempart.

At this retro-style brasserie, you'll find bench seats, posters, checkered floor tiles and an outdoor seating area with a view of the Saône. The outdoor terrace is a very pleasant and peaceful place to dine. They serve typical cuisine of the Val de Saône with some traditional specialities such as Saône whitebait, fresh pan-fried frogs' legs, and creamy Bresse chicken. There are some set menus on offer, with names that give you an idea of what to expect: 'Clin d’œil Mâconnais' (a tribute to the Mâconnais region) , 'le Marché du Jour' (today's market), 'Une Envie Gourmande' (a sweet tooth).

The Maison Jean Loron invites you to explore the legacy left by the winemaker Jean Loron. Taste ou wines born from the unique spirit of the Beaujolais and Southern Bourgogne region that are appreciated worldwide. Located between the Moulin-à-Vent in Beaujolais and the Roche de Solutré in the Mâconnais, the Maison Jean Loron is one of the oldest and largest winegrowers in the Southern Bourgogne.

The hotel, with 69 rooms and suites, is located in the very centre of Mâcon, in a superb building erected over 100 years ago.

The Halles (indoor market hall) was opened in February 1971 by Louis Pradel, and then renovated in 2006. The roof is covered in grass and greenery. From March 1859 to January 1971, this market hall was located at Place des Cordeliers, in the 2nd 'arrondissement' of Lyon.
The roof will soon be transformed into a huge public garden, and will be open to visitors.

The castle is ideally located a few minutes walk away from the city centre, standing atop Montélimar’s heights. The stronghold is a powerful testimony of the Adhémar family and lineage’s influence, for the city was named after them. The castle comprises the Lord’s lodge, a Roman chapel, a square tower and a curtain wall topped by a chemin de ronde. As centuries went by, the ensemble served various purposes, such as a palace, a fort, citadel and then a prison. Today, the castle is a publicly owned property and belongs to Département de la Drôme, it has been listed as part of the Monuments Historiques and has benefited from many restoration projects. The first visitors were admitted in 1983 and have enjoyed since the building’s unique Southern Roman architectural features. Most remarkable highlights of the stronghold include some notable arcade windows and a breathtaking 360° panorama over the city from the chemin de ronde.

History with children’s eyes

Whether our visitors are young amateurs with a knack for history heirlooms or simply curious minds, we encourage children and adults to explore this one of a kind castle: several visiting courses include games and fun activities for all ages. All courses cover the castle’s history and its architecture, the daily routine of Lords and their subjects, customs and rituals commonly used during Middle Age and how the City of Montélimar governed and was governed over the ages.
This project of setting up innovative, off the beaten track visiting courses for guests was initiated and carried out by local professionals and children, as part of collaborating plans and initiatives.
